![]() TEXAS HOLD'EM: The object of this popular version of poker is to create the best 5-card high hand using any combination of 7 cards. Texas Hold'em uses 5 community cards in conjuction with each player's own 2 cards. A Minimum of 2 and a maximum of 10 players can participate at each table. The 2 players to the left of the dealer button begin by posting the blind bets. 2 cards are dealt to each oplayer face down, followed by the firt round of betting. Next, 3 cards are dealt face up in the center of the table. This is called the flop and these are commuity cards. The second round of betting follows. Then the Fourth communal card is dealt face up (this card is called the "Turn Card" or "Fourth Street")and the third round of betting takes place. The final communal card is dealt face up (this card is called "The River" or "Fifth Street") and then a final round of betting occurs. Finally it's time for the showdown. The dealer reads aloud all hands shown at this time and the pot goes to the highest ranking 5-card poker hand. 7-CARD STUD: The object of the game is to create the best 5-card poker hand out of the 7 available cards. Three cards are dealt to each player: 2 cards are face down and 1 card is face up. The first betting round takes place; beginning with a forced bet for the player showing the lowest card. The fourth card is dealt face up, followed by a round of betting. 2 more rounds of dealing (face up cards) and betting follow. The final card is dealt face down, followed by the last round of betting. At lastm the suspense comes to an end. Each player in the hand turns their 3 down cards face up on the table. The dealer reads aloud all hands shown at this time and the pot goes to the highest ranking 5-card poker hand. In the case of a tie, strngth of hand is determined by the suit of the tied cards in order of highest to lowest-ranking: Spades, Hearts, Diamonds, and then Clubs. Forced Bet: A required bet that starts the action in the first round of 7-Card Stud. OMAHA: The objective of this exciting game is to make the best possible 5-card poker hand out of the 9 cards dealt by only using 2 down cards and 3 community cards. Omaha uses 5 community cards in conjunction with each player's own 4 cards. A minimum of 2 and a maximum of 10 players can participate at each table. The 2 players to the left of the dealer button begin by posting the blind bets. 4 cards are dealt to each player face down, followed by the firts round of betting. Next, 3 cards are dealt face upo in the center of the table, these are the community cards. The second round of betting follows. Then the fourth community cards. The second round of betting follows. Then the fourth communal is dealt face up and the third round of betting takes place. The final communal card is dealt face up followed by the last round of betting. Now, it's time to see who takes the pot. The dealer reads aloud all hands shown at this time and the highest-ranking 5-card poker hand wins. Please Note: In Hold'em, a player can use one, two, or none of his hole cards to create his final hand. For example, if there's a Royal Flush on the board, any player who is intelligent enough to call to the last bet will receive an equal share of the pot. BUT, in Omaha, you must use two - and only two- of your four hole cards to form your final five-card poker hand. This rule leads to all kinds of curious situations. - You cannot play the board. You can only play three-fifths of it. - You cannot play three or four cards from your hole cards. - Just because there are four suited cards on board, and multiple players in the hand, it is not a lock that somoene has a flush, because someone will have to also hold two hole cards in suit, not just one. Good Hold'em players know that position - playing on or as near to the button as possible - is vitally important to winning, so much so that many hands worth a raise in late position are not even worth a call in early position. However, in Omaha, position is not irrelevant, but it pales in comparison to hand values. It would be fair to say that Hold'em is a game of position, while Omaha is a game of card combinations. OMAHA HIGH/LOW: Omaha High/Low also known as Omaha Split 8 or Better, the object of Omaha High/Low is to create the best 5-card poker high hand and/or low hand out of the 9 cards dealt by only using 2 down cards and 3 community cards. Played in the same fashion as Omaha (see directions above). The lowest ranking 5-card poker hand, if applicable, may not contain any pairs and may not contain a card higher than 8. CRAZY PINEAPPLE: This game is essentially the same as Texas Hold'em but players are dealt three pocket cards up front. After the betting round on the flop each player must discard one card. RAZZ: This version of Seven Card Stud has a twist. The player with the lowest hand wins the pot. Straights and flushes are not counted so the best possible hand is 5-4-3-2-A. Lowball (Kansas City Lowball) a.k.a. Duece-to-Seven Lowball: Kansas City Lowball is played with a standard 52-card deck and one Joker. The Joker is considered to be the lowest card not present in a hand. Straights and flushes do not count against the player. Players are dealt five cards face down, in turn, in rotation. A round of betting occurs. Players are required to bet or fold. The players who remain in the pot have the option to improve their hand by replacing cards in their hands with new ones. A player may draw up to five consecutive cards. After all players have drawn players a round of betting occurs. The best possible low hand is 2-3-4-5-7, not of the same suit. The lowest five card poker hand wins the pot. In the event of a tie the pot is split equally among winning hands. | Poker News - Live Feed | Poker Games Info | Disclaimer | Poker Quotes | Gambling Movies | Poker Etiquette | Poker Terms (Glossary) | Mailing List | Hand Rankings | Poker Tips | Poker Tells | Name of Poker Hands | Poker Odds | World Series Of Poker | WSOP Winners | Poker Hall Of Fame | Starting Poker Hands | Full Tilt Lessons | Link To Us | Links E-J | Links K-O | Links P-T | Links U-Z | Shopping Online | Girls | EPT | | Return Home | Poker Rooms | Bingo | Sports Bets | Casino Games | Casino Supplies | Contact Us | |
